First thing, scroll down and look at the fist piece of text that has a
"*"...read the "piece of text" (if you don't, you might brick your
psp!)
Before we start you will need this:
1. Patience...in following instructions and not pressing buttons at
random because one wrong thing you do...there is no going back! Unless
you buy the chip which is 100$ US (installation excluded)
2. Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (you won't need it for
ever...if you don't like this game...just rent it for the downgrading
process.
3. Your AC adapter (it's not mandatory but I would very much recomend
it just incase)
4. A PSP with a Firmware 2.6 and under (Yes thats right even 2.6 but
the reason I say 2.5 on the title and maybe 2.6 is because I have only
done this on a 2.5...in other words, my psp)
So this is what you need to do: (if you need the downgrader, PM me and
I will send it to your email) either that or download it at
www.psp-hacks.com
1. Assuming you have the downgrader (it is really called the downdater)
you have to get the folder called 2.50 and copy it to this location on
your psp: E:/PSP/GAME ("E" replaced by what letter your psp occupies)
(if you have a firmware 2.60, you do the same thing but copy and paste
the folder called 2.60)
2. Apparently someone with a 1.5 is suppose to give you a file called
Downdater but when I downloaded my Downgrader, I got that folder in my
download...so...if you don't have that folder, once again PM me and I
will send it to you... So..you have to copy the folder called Downdater
in the root of your memory stick (just simply E: in my case...if your
psp is another letter than replace E: with that letter)
3. Boot the GTA Eloader
4. Now choose "Downdater Test"
5. Now the screen will be black for five minutes and you will see that
your memory stick is being read...
6. When the process is done you should get a message saying that the
disc does not work...(atleast I did) Don't worry, thats a good
sign...now reset your psp...(in my case I had to reset it twice) and
there you go!! You have a 1.5!!
*None of this should be attempted if you bought a psp and it was
already a 2.5 or 2.6, it should have been under 2.5 then for some
reason you have upgraded it...or more specifically you should not have
the TA-082 Motherboard (to check if you do, open the UMD drive and
check the top right on the green motherboard part...if there is text
saying "(I don't remember, someone plz remind me)" or any text for that
matter, (I think) you cannot downgrade and thats final! And if you
succesfully downgraded and you want to be extra safe then (this is a
rumor) upgrade to firmware 2.00 then downgrade back to 1.5...(I
personally don't think this is needed though...)

I wish it is useful to you:)
